# Recipe System

<figure><img src="/files/NiOC4TDxYtY5GEfNjFiJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The Upgradable Traits system is built around [**HotDog: Recipes**](https://opensea.io/collection/hotdogrecipes), an on-chain Recipe collection for [Abstract Hotdogs](https://opensea.io/collection/abstract-hotdogs-abstract). Each **HotDog Recipe** is tied to an upgradable trait and belongs to one of five rarity levels:

### Rarity Levels

| Rarity    | Recipe Name            |
| --------- | ---------------------- |
| Common    | Classic Bite Recipe    |
| Uncommon  | Spicy Snap Recipe      |
| Rare      | Supreme Sausage Recipe |
| Epic      | Smoke King Recipe      |
| Legendary | The One N’Only Recipe  |

The system includes **139 unique trait designs**, with circulating supply varying by rarity level. As rarity increases from Common to Legendary, trait supply decreases.

For example, **HD Jersey — World Cup 2026 Special** is planned as one of the most common traits in the collection, with two color options and a total supply of 300. On the other hand, some Legendary traits are limited to only one or a few pieces.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://hotdogs-1.gitbook.io/upgradable-traits/first-step-general/recipe-system.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
